Now the invitation to 43-kavlen August 10 – 11 can be found under the headline Invitation. So it is time to prepare the teams for one of the main Swedish events of the year for seniors. Registration this year shall be made via Eventor. Also registrate for the 43-epilog, the mid distance competition in Linköping on Sunday 11. Make sure that you have subscribed to the 43-kavlen newsletter which will give you continuing information via e-mail – se under the headline Newsletter.
Because then 43-kavlen will be decided in Åtvidaberg. This is the weekend after the Ungdomens tiomila (The youth 100 km) – hence there is the possibility to fully concentrate on 43-kavlen. New this year is that we will return to the age limit 35 years and we merge the two women’s classes into one. Co-organizers are OK Eken and OK Denseln.

The victory in the duel between the duelling teams in the M43(H43)-class went to Anttola Urheilijat, defeating Rastivarsat with six positions. This means that Anttola Urheilijat has a free entry in next year’s M43(H43)-class. Second came Finspångs SOK, defeating OK Denseln with eight positions. Victory went to the team beating its opponent with the smallest margin.
Congratulations to Anttola Urheilijat!
Results and leg times are available on the result side. Any detected errors should be e-mailed to 43kavle@lok.se.
There was a trio consisting of IFK Göteborg, Tullinge SK och Delta getting onto the last leg. Tulling SK lost ground early but Delta hang on. The preparations included many other competitions, from O-ringen to Veteran’s World Championship, but a common tactic for Boxholm-Mjölby OL was to be safe, not take any chances and to use available trails. This team effort finally gave Boxholm-Mjölby OL a three minutes and 57 seconds margin to the second team, Suomusjärven Sisu.
Congratulations to Boxholm-Mjölby OL!
After a slow start, Espoon Suunta began to climb towards the top and on the fourth leg was leading with more than nine minutes. The last leg runner Sini Pekkala maintained the leading position and gave Espoon Suunta the victory. Afterwards Sini felt it had been a wonderful day in the forest and the legs still being fresh enough for going dancing that evening.
Congratulations to Espoon Suunta!
With a team consisting of Birgitta Johansson, Britt Gunnarsson and Anne-Marie Ericsson, Kristinehamn won the W55(D55) class. With the tactic not to make mistakes Kristinehamn was in lead after the first leg, only one second behind the leading Finspångs SOK after the second but the first to cross the finish line on the final leg.
Congratulations to Kristinehamns OK!
We now have the first two teams who have challenged each other to a duel. In the M43 (H43) class Anttola Urheilijat challenges Rastavarisit in an exciting fight that we will try to follow a bit extra.

Has your club not succeeded in forming a team this year? Try again, or a hot suggestion is to contact your old team mates from a previous 10mila. This because you may now form a combined team with runners who have previously run in the same 10mila team.

Spring is here, the snow has melted and now the ground is bare in the forests, wonderful! What is more appropriate than to listen to this year’s course planners, Michael Welin and Magnus Nygren. During the winter they have been sitting at their desks, sketching on this year’s 43-kavlen courses and they will now go out to put in their final touches.
